Cutting Edge Fabrication (CEF) installs a new high production PerformArc robotic welding system at their Milwaukee, WI location. The pre-engineered cell features Panasonic robotics and Miller Electric welding technology, optimized for automotive, manufacturing, and fabrication applications. The A/B split station maximizes productivity allowing the operator to perform setup and part removal on one station. At the same time, welding production takes place on the other — each station is rated for 1,100 pounds and equipped with servo outboards providing part welding rotation and multi-part configurations.
“Our truck saddle weldment was the perfect candidate to introduce welding automation. The many components are tack welded into position and fixtured before robotic welding,” Keith Butze, President at Cutting Edge Fabrication, said in a statement. “The robotic cell is producing consistent, high-quality welds 2 to 3 times faster than manual welding. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and welcome automation as a long-term welding solution to serve our customers.”
