Fabrication Fitting | Welding Fitter

The fabrication fitting process is a critical stage in assembling quality fabrications, with some structures comprising hundreds of individual metal components and lengths stretching over 100 feet. Everything starts with precise in-house cutting and forming operations, ensuring accuracy and saving time throughout the entire process. Cutting Edge’s skilled welder fitters plan, layout, and fit all those pieces to customer print specifications. Using fixtures, bracing, clamps, stabilizers, and other aids to correctly position, align, and space components. Tack welds, small welding points strategically positioned, hold pieces in place with the ability to make adjustments while building. The fitter must also account for warping that may occur during assembly and welding. When the fitting stage is complete, the fabrication moves into the final welding phase.

Our experienced fitters and welders work with aluminum, AR plate | abrasion resistant plate, armor plate, carbon steel, heavy steel plate, high-alloy steel, iron, manganese, nickel-based alloys, sheet metal, stainless steel, structural steel, and other specialty materials.
